Just like our physical body needs nutritious food and regular exercise, our hearts need regular nourishment in order to thrive. The heart is the strongest organ in the body, with tremendous capacity to make decisions, to heal and to expand. However, the heart will also close or shut down if it's not treated properly. What makes your heart sing? In the yoga world there is a lot of talk about "opening the heart", which is an admirable goal. However, we first need to learn how to support the heart and then coax it into expansion. Trust and honor the fragility as much as the strength of you heart. Let's spend a luxurious two hour intermediate practice honoring the territory of the heart.
